History

David Timmons has been a professionally licensed architect in the State of Arizona since 1991 and has gained over 40 years of architectural experience working through all phases of project development and design.  Traveling throughout Europe to eighteen different countries, including North & Central America, inspired David to utilize old-world materials & textures, applying elegant yet timeless flourishes to contemporary open designs with a focus on sustainability.

David's experience working in the construction field has given him insight into the construction phase of projects.  He has worked directly with contractors, placing foundations, slabs, metal stud framing and drywall as well as hanging grid ceilings.  All of these experiences have expanded his understanding beyond the typical scope of architecture, making his attention to architectural details even more thought out.

Spaces are created in order to reflect functional, technical, social, environmental, and aesthetic considerations of our clients while also being mindful of the preservation of the surrounding natural environment.  David Timmons Architectural Design Studio was formed in 1991 originally with the main focus in high-end custom residential designs.  Since then, the studio has expanded its areas of expertise to include commercial, public projects, sustainable design, and tenant improvements.

In the many years of practicing architecture, we have successfully coordinated the placement of over $80 million dollars of construction for office and retail spaces, assisted living facilities, medical offices, restaurants, educational offices, art galleries, hotels, and many other building types, large and small, all completed on time and within specified budgets. Our ability to solve complex design issues, pay attention to detail, and supply accurate and detailed plans on time and on budget have made us one of the oldest and most respected firms in the state.
